Motorola Droid event hosted by Verizon on October 28th

According to an invitation sent by Verizon to the press, a Motorola Droid event is said to take place on October 28th. So it’s looking like the device is probably going to be officially announced there and be available shortly after (sometime in November).

Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 hits the FCC, user manual leaks

Sony Ericsson’s latest (and probably last) Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone the Xperia X2 has hit the FCC who in turn leaked the devices user manual that you can download here. Still no word one when the phone is goign to be avaialbe in the US (if ever). It is normaly launching next month in Europe.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 (Onyx) is officially announced

After months of leaks, YouTube videos & early reviews the BlackBerry Bold 9700 (onyx) is now officially announced. The phone runs on the new BlackBerry OS5.0, features a optical treckpad, 360×480 screen, Wifi, 3.2Mpx camera etc.. Several carriers have announced that they are going ot offer the phone worldiwde as soon as November.

Engadget has justed posted a picture gallery of the Samsung Moment Android smartphone being unboxed. it should be available on Sprint’s network for $179 on a two-year contract. Not having a custumized UI (TouchWIZ) sucks though IMO.

HTC HD2 headed to Orange Romania

Nokia N900 camera and media player demoed on video

Here’s a nice video showing us the camera application on the Nokia N900 and also the the integrated mediaplayer app in action (it supports movies, music and internet radio). If only the device had a capacitive touchscreen… It’s still looks awesome thoguh.

Microsoft just posted a funny video showing us how and why some applictaion are rejected from the Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Looks like Microsoft is taking shots at Apple’s abundance of useless apps in the iPhone Appstore in this video.

Samsung i5700 Spica hands-on video

Here’s more in-depth hands on video of the Samsung i5700 Spica (also know as the Galaxy Lite). There’s nothing really exciting though given that the device runs the vanila Android UI with no customitions done unlike the HTC Hero, Motorola CLIQ and Samsung Behold II.
