Samsung Omnia II hitting Verizon on November 1st or January?

Samsung i920
According to PhoneArena the Samsung Omnia II is about to hit Verizon on November 1st, but WMExperts got another tip that says that we shouldn’t expect the device until January 2010 (!). Well let’s wait and see, hopefully it will be out before Christmas. Also remember that we heard earlier that the phone will ship with Windows Mobile 6.1 and get a WM6.5 upgrade later.

Android 2.0 walkthrough!

Looks like BGR was right and the Motorola Droid / Tao (Sholes) they have in hand is actually running a beta version on Android 2.0 (codenamed Eclair). Google did a nice job tweaking the UI here & there while adding some new features. It’s good to know that MS Exchange support is now natively supported (it was added by HTC on the HTC Hero), native Facebook support in the contacts, layer support in Google Maps, a new unified inbox etc. The whole UI looks a lot cleaner IMO. It’s kinda scary to see Google pumping out new versions of Android every few months compared to Microsoft who nearly didn’t do a damn thing about Windows Mobile since WM5.

HTC HD2 display rotation speed shown on video

SoloPalmari just uploaded a short video demostrating the display rotation speed of the HTC HD2 in Opera Mobile 9.7. That thing is fast! Check it out:

Remember that everything we’ve seen so far on the HD2 has been running on non-final ROMs and hardware.

One more HTC HD2 hands-on review

HTC_HD2 review
Here’s another HTC HD2 / Leo hands-on p/review, unfortunately it’s a hebrew so you’ll have to use read google’s sucky translation. One thins to not is that the ROM onthe phone seems to be quite a bit old (look at the way the emails are presented compared to the Sense UI version on the final versions).

If you have not had reason to want to move the foster child, apparently found one. HTC Touch HD2. The HTC Touch device HD2 is the fastest and most comfortable playing with him today. Add 8GB memory card seems endless.

Section of the device not only because of him getting 10 round is the lack of the camera button. But as it is getting 9.5 on my test. Brock for HTC, now let’s hope he gets Huber as soon as possible.Which operates cellular perhaps you’d like to take it? Absolutely recommended.

Here’s a video:

Is this the Nokia N920 ?

Nokia N920
The picture above just popped up today and is supposedly of the Nokia N920 which is said to run Maemo 6 (the N900 runs Maemo 5) and has a capacitive touchscreen. It also doesn’t look like it has a slide-out qwerty keyboard. Take this with a huge grain of salt though.

Acer Liquid hands-on video

acer-liquid-a1-android
Here’s a short hands-on video (in french) of Acer’s first Android phone the Liquid. You’ll able to see some of the UI tweaks that Acer did Android (not much thought and what is seen doesn’t look that good) but remember that the hardware and software aren’t finalized yet. The other piece of info is that the clock speed of the SnapDragon chip isn’t known yet and may not run at 1Ghz like the Acer neoTouch / F1, Toshiba TG01 and HTC HD2.

Motorola Droid / Tao boot up video

BGR just posted a short video of the Morotola Droid / Tao (Sholes) boot up sequence. I don’t see what the fuss is all about thought (besides the creepy robot voice). BGR claims that the device is running Android 2.0 (Eclair), which I doubt.

Don’t worry you won’t ever need a stylus on the HTC HD2

Many people have been worried about the lack of stylus support on the HTC HD2 / Leo because of the capacitive touchscreen. Well fear no more because HTC anticipated this and tweaked the basic Windows Mobile 6.5 UI in the same way Microsoft is doing it as we have seen in the latest builds that have been leaked (see here). As you can see in the video above, check boxes now have a slightly bigger size to accommodate your finger and the scroll-bar gets thicker once you touch it.

The exact cause of the incident is still publicly unknown but there’s some speculation that it may be an act of sabotage by a disgruntled Danger employee (in realtion to the Danger/Project Pink problems)
