T-Mobile Pulse Android phone approved by the FCC

The Huawei mobile T-Mobile Pulse (Touchphone 8220) smartphone has just passed through the FCC. Not much is known besides the fact that it runs Android has a touchscreen and all the standard features you would expect (WiFi/BT/GPS connectivity, 3MPx camera a 1500Mha battery). Size wise, it measures 116×62.8×13.0 mm & weights 140 grams .

Samsung B7330 Qwerty smartphone pictured, launch in October

More Samsung goodness from our German pasl over at This time it’s Samsung’s B7330 Qwerty smartphone which is clearly going against RIM’s blackBerry phones. It is supposed to hip in October with Windows Mobile 6.5 on board. Here are the specs:

Samsung Omnia Pro to launch in September in Germany

OmniaPro3 is reporting that Samsung is set to launch their slide-out Qwerty beast in germany in September. The Omnia Pro will probably ship with Windows Mobile 6.1 on board (and be upgradable to WM 6.5 a couple weeks later) and should be priced at €499 unlocked. As reported earlier, the Omnia II will hit Germany in October for €649


Windows Mobile Security Receives Global Recognition


I admit that I don’t know much about all this security stuff besides the simple System Center Device managing features etc but it looks like Windows Mobile is really robust in the security department if we are to believe the info posted on the WinMo team blog:

The Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system, System Centre Mobile Device Manager 2008 and System Centre Mobile Device Manager 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1) have obtained Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level 4 (EAL4). This news follows successful completion of the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program. The DSD is the Australian Government’s national authority for information security.

HTC Hero Sense UI lag fixed by future rom update

HTC’s Hero most talked about flaw is the UI lag that often happens when sliding left/right through the home-screen. Based on the video posted by Paul @ MoDaCo showing a future rom it looks like HTC managed to fix the problem and make the Hero on par with the iPhone when it comes to UI snappiness and fluidity!

Acer F1 (S200) user manual leaked

It looks like Acer is about to announce their 3.8″ screen Windows Mobile 6.5 SnapDragon beast pretty soon. The whole user manual is available to download on Acer’s uk support site. Here’s a screenshot of the Home-screen and camera app:

Verizon HTC Whitestone hits the FCC

The Verizon bound HTC Whitestone is getting closer as seen by the fact that it has just hit the FCC for approval. sporting a 3.6 inch display, dedicated multimedia/tv button and a kickstand the phone looks to be aimed at the multimedia/Verizon Vcast users.
