Verizon and HTC introduce the HTC Droid Eris for $99

The HTC Droid Eris is officially announced and introduced today by HTC, making it the second Android phone on Verizon’s network. The device is available in stores and online beginning November 6th for $99.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. As you probably already know this is actually the HTC Hero re-branded and slightly modified by Verizon (like Sprint did two months ago). Here’s the press release:

Strong HTC HD2 demand to boost HTC’s revenue in Q42009

According to HTC‘s CEO Peter Chou strong demand for HTC’s latest Windows Mobile 6.5 device, the HD2 is goid to lead a squential growth in handset shipments and revenue growth in Q42009.

HTC is currently cooperating with a number of carriers in Europe, including T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone, to promote the sales of HTC HD2 and demand from those carriers is outpacing supply, Chou indicated.

T-Mobile & Samsung unveiling the Behold II on November 12

T-Mobile & Samsung are set to unveil the Samsung Behold II Android smartphone on November 12. This device is basically the US version of the Samsung Galaxy which is already out in Europe, the major difference being that the Behold II will feature Samsung’s TouchWIZ UI on top od Android.

Verizon HTC Droid Eris unboxed


The BGR just posted the first ever unboxing of Verizon‘s HTC Droid Eris (HTC Hero). It doesn’t look that much different from Sprint’s HTC Hero other than the capacitive buttons under the screen. The Phone is scheduled to launch on November 6th alongside the Motorola Droid.
