Nokia Lumia 920 PureView and Lumia 820 renders and photos leaked

Can’t wait until September 5th to see what Nokia is cooking? Well, here are the first renders and pictures of two Windows Phone 8 handsets that NOkia is supposedly going to unveil next week. The first one seen above is the Nokia Lumia 920 PureView high-end WP8 devices which is said to sport a 4.5″ screen and a PureView camera (but don’t expect a 41Mp sensor like the Nokia 808). Screen resolution is not know but I would be surprised if it was 1280×768 instead of 720P. This the increased width could be used for added on screen buttons which could be especially useful in camera mode to make full use of the PureView technology.

The second handset is the Nokia Lumia 820 which is the direct successor of the Lumia 800. Not much is know about it yet (not even the screen resolution which could very well still be 800×480 but I4m betting on a 720P panel). The prototype pictured below is said to have only 512MB of ram and a 4.3″ display. Speaking of panel I think that it is also safe to assume that those handsets probably won’t have Super AMOLED HD panels given that Samsung usually retains a 1 year exclusivity on its latest screen tech before offering it to OEMs (the Galaxy Nexus which was the first to sport one isn’t 1 year old yet)

When Nokia released the 900, you thought that Samsung would keep the RGB technology to themselves, and thought the 900 would come with a 4.3″ Pentile display. I had no doubt that the 900 would come with the same display as the Galazy SII..
My theory now is that Nokia will NOT release a 4.5″ device, as Samsung does not manufacture a 720p display at that size, so they will instead release a larger device with the same 4.65″ display as the Galaxy Nexus. I have a feeling that Samsung are keeping the larger displays for themselves. I could be wrong. But I wasn’t wrong about the 3.7″ Pentile display on the 800, and I wasn’t wrong about the 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus display on the 900.
I do have a feeling that the Lumia 820 will feature the same 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus display found on the 900 and the GSII. And of course it will have a resolution of 480 x 800.
Nokia have managed to get Samsung to do special displays for them before, such as the 3.9″ 480 x 852 display found on the N9, or maybe even Nokia may find a different supplier, but I don’t think it will happen this time.
My money is that Nokia releases the 920 with a with a 720p 4.65″ HD ClearBlack display, and possibly a 21mp camera.
My money is also on the 820 featuring a 4.3″ 800 x 480 (Unless they use the same display as the Motorola Razr Maxx) Super AMOLED Plus, either with the same 8mp camera or the 12mp found on the N8.
I guess we’ll all find out on Wednesday.
