Samsung Omnia 7 vs LG Optimus 7 Performance Comparison

I’ve just shot this video show how Windows Phone 7 performs on the Samsung Omnia 7 and LG Optimus 7. The verdict: Exactly the same!. This is pretty amazing when you think about it. We have to hardware devices build by two different manufacturers and they have exactly the same performance running the same tasks. Sure they may have the same hardware specifications but keep in mind that they are probably using different memory modules (we know that LG is using 16GB of eMMC for the storage and that the Omnia has double the ROM (1GB)) and several other small differences. This just goes to show that Microsoft’s decision to control the whole platform was the best thing they could do. Hit the break to watch the video:

I know that the HTC’s devices are apparently a bit slower at loading applications (I’m basing this on the videos we have seen lately) and will make sure to check this out once I receive the review samples from HTC shortly.

I wish I could! But they aren’t mine :-( Will have to ask LG and Samsung and HTC if I can setup a contest like that.

It might have just been my general disgust with the LG Optimus 7 Pro but I found it slower than the HTC 7 Mozart in my own testing. I’m assuming it has identical hardware to the vanilla LG Optimus 7?

The LG Optimus Q / Quantum (the one with the sliding keyboard) ? Yeah it’s the same HW as the Optimus 7 (but with a 3.6″ screen. When you tested it did it have the final ROM (I know the device that where shown during the OCT 11 event had debug firmwares.

Cool video M! So, basically the same speed. The only main difference to me is the screen. And I´d go for SuperAMOLED in that case. But it is nice to see that LG isn´t slowing things and bring a very good set of WP7 phones as well. :D
