More HTC HD2 Windows Phone 7 confusion: HTC support says update is coming

Things are going to get ugly folks. To ad more confusion to a confusing problem HTC’s support reps are now telling consumers that HTC is working with Microsoft on a Windows Phone 7 Series update for the HTC HD2:

Translation from Spanish to Englsih:
Concerning your question, we can inform you that we are working along with Microsoft and plan to bring a Windows Mobile 7 ROM update, but for now we do not have a release date.

Here’s another answer received from the UK suppport team:

When Windows Mobile 7 been released then your device can upgrade to WM7.

Ugh….Come one HTC & Microsoft! Can we finally have an official answer and end all this nonsense? MIX10?

Teddy of seatle, a very wise decision, you wont be disappointed, it’s the best phone i’ve ever had, i’ve customized mine with extra icon & graphics. LOVE IT!!!!
Dont worry about ‘the update’ its all part of sales attraction!

i am still awaiting mine. it was a huge painful decision to make after having recently found out it wont be upgradeable simply cause it has two buttons too many! but its a long wait till series 7 comes out so i decided to get the hd2. i’m in south afruca have been waiting for two weeks for this phone to be delivered to me. they say they are out of stock. staying in a third world country really stinks.

i do hope htc makes a rom for us hd2 users cause the phone is fairly new, wouldnt wanna be stuck with an old OS when the rest of the world has moved on. plus i want to sync with my xbox!

HTC U.S. support will not give any such answer to me (I emailed them today and got a response) except to say that they realize that the availability of updates is an important aspect to me but they they can not make such guarantees.
