Just a quick heads up about the Nokia announcements that is being teased at on the company’s Facebook page. The first image plastered with the 6-18-12 date shows a satellite view of Hawaii while the second one is a picture of an Roland TR-808 drum machine. Now if we connect the dots..Hawaii’s Area Code: 808 + Roland 808 = Nokia PureView 808. So, there you have it. Microsoft’s Monday announcement is sure a hell not going to be the US launch of the Nokia PureView 808…

Nokia acquires Scalado imaging technology, assets and plans to cut 10000 jobs while re-shuffling leadership

Nokia has just announced plans to acquire developers, technologies and intellectual property for imaging from Scalado, the company behind the Rewind feature found in the upcoming Nokia Lumia camera extensions and RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS. The plan is apparently meant to improve the camera experience on Nokia’s Lumia Windows Phones and surely lends some credence to the Windows Phone 8 camera Lenses and OEM customizable Camera UI/API to be introduced in Windows Phone 8 Apollo.
