WordPress for Windows Phone 7 updated: New features and improvements

The official WordPress application for Windows Phone 7 has been updated to version 1.2 today and packs several new features and improvements:

- Landscape Editing support
- UI Improvements to the Panorama view
- Languages support: French, German, Italian and Spanish
- Better support for post pingbacks in the comment view.
- Fixed comment submission date from being changed when moderating.
- Preview now works for drafts, scheduled and private posts/pages.
- Prompt added if the back button is accidentally tapped while creating a post.

Help translate the Windows Phone 7 WordPress application

The WordPress team is looking for some brave souls to help them translate the recently released Windows Phone 7 WordPress application in different languages so that it can be submitted to more countriesin the near future. Here’s what you will have to do if you wish to help them:

- Make sure you have a WordPress.org login

- Visit the app’s GlotPress site and start translating!
- If you need help figuring out what to do you can read the Getting Started Guide.
- If you don’t see your language listed, leave a comment here or send us an email and we’ll get it added to the project!

WordPress application for Windows Phone 7 released

Automatic has officially released WordPress for Windows Phone 7 today. The mobile client is now freely available for download in the Marketplace and will enable user to remote ly moderate comments, view stats, add new posts, edit content etc directly through it. The application works as it should and makes good use the Panorama control. It’s super easy to setup and doesn’t seem to suffer from any major performance issue,unlike many third-party WP7 applications.
