Windows Phone 7 on the HTC HD2 is totally useless…surprised?

I hate to be the one but…..I told you so! So what else is left to say here? Not much I guess. Folks should just use common sense once in a while instead of getting hyped up about meaningless things. It was clear from the get go that Microsoft implemented security features into Windows Phone 7 so that what used to be something totally ordinary on Windows Mobile in the past would be nearly impossible now (hacking roms left and right…). One more video of Windows Phone 7 on the HTC HD2

The XDA.cn guys have just uploaded a second video of the HTC HD2 running Windows Phone 7. This time you will get a full OS walkthrough alongside an HTC Surround. Nothing much to see here obviously and the build running on the HD2 is still the same months old version that we saw yesterday. As I said, this will be totaly useless given that the HD2 won’t be able to use any online service like the Marketplace, Location service etc.. (every WP7 retail and developer handset has a unique devices ID that is checked by Microsoft’ servers every time the devices goes online). Video after the break:

This is so far the most convincing video we have seen and clearly shows the OS actually running on the device. This isn’t really worth much thought given that what we are seeing here looks like a 6 months old build and that even if the RTM build was ported to the HD2 you won’t be able to use any online services with it (every WP7 retail and developer handset has a unique devices ID that is checked by Microsoft’ servers every time the devices goes online).
