Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Wave coming soon to Vodafone UK

Samsung’s upcoming high-end Android 2.1 smartphone, the Galaxy S,an the company’s first Bada handsets, the Samsung Wave, are apparently headed to Vodafone UK and should be launching soon. Both devices feature Samsung’s new Super AMOLED screen technology and the company’s own S5PC110 / S5PC110A01 chipset (with PowerVR SGX540 GPU theoretically capable of pushing 90M triangles/sec). The Samsung Wave is also available for pre-order on amazon UK for £399 unlocked.

Samsung Roadmap leaks: 4 new Bada phones and 2 new Windows Phones


Samsung unveiled its upcoming product roadmap during a recent developer event Russia. According to the the picture above Samsung has 2 Windows Phones (7 or 6.X?) currently scheduled to launch this year, a full touch-screen (slab) handset and a full-qwerty candy bard handset reminiscent of the i780. We can also see One unannounced Android devices are the roadmap (probably an entry-level version of the Galaxy S).


Samsung has lso quite a few Bada handsets planned as pictured above. The first one is obviously the Samsung Wave which should start to hit the market anytime now and 4 other unannounced devices. (2 of them having a slide-out keyboard)

Samsung Wave & Samsung Galaxy S are the first DivX HD certified handsets


Samsung, in collaboration with DivX arre announcing that the Samsung Wave and the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S will be the first DivX HD certified handsets. Samsung has historically  supported Divx playback on its mid-high-end devices by licensing Nextreaming Player. I also wouldn’t be surprised if HTC licensed the same tech for the upcoming DivX/720p HTC Deisre update. Check ou the full Press Release:

Samsung Wave: First Bada phone announced


Samsung unveiled their first Bada powered handset today (unfortunitaly I missed the launch event because my filght was delayed…). The Samsung Wave sports a 3.3″ SuperAmoled capacitive touchscreen with a WVGA resolution. On the back is a 5 Mpix camera capable of recording 720P video. The Wave also packs a 1Ghz processor (but Samsung didn’t if t’s a Qualcomm SnapDragon). The novelty though is the new Bada OS whic looks like a mix between the Symbian S60 UI, Android and samsung’s own TouchWIZ (the Wave runs the latest TouchWIZ 3.0). According to the early hands-on the device still suffers from a few bugs but feels really snappy.

Here are the first live pictures of Samsung’s first Bada phone, the Samsung Wave that we have seen yesterday on a giant billboard in Barcelona at MWC10:

Samsung Wave Bada phone to be announced Sunday at MWC


Samsung’s first Bada phone just made an appearance on a huge billboard in Barcelona today. The Samsung Wave will be the company’s first handset running the new Bada OS/Framework and should be available in Europe in Q2 2010. The announcement will take place Sunday afternoon at MWC.
