The Samsung Omnia 7 has 4GB of DDR ram ? Service manual released

The Samsung Omnia 7 service manual has just been leaked for our own viewing pleasure and some interesting (and perplexing) tidbits have just attracted my attention. According to the block diagram (picture after the break) the Omnia 7 apparently packs 4GB of DDR Ram and not 512Mb of Ram + 1GB of Rom. We can clearly see the SanDisk SDIN4C2-8G 8GB iNAND module mentioned in there but there’s also another 8GB of NAND and the mysterious 4GB of DDR. Check it out:

Get a perfect reading of your Samsung Omnia 7 and Samsung Focus battery life

I was playing around with the Samsung Omnia 7 (and Focus) Diagnosis mode this morning to find out some more information about the hardware but apparently missed something really interesting which was pointed out to me a few hours ago (thanks @anaadoul). You can actually get a perfect reading of your device’s battery life by entering the Battery Status sub-menu (*#2*#) and going to the second page (hit the arrow on the top right) and you should have a table full of info (pictured above). So what does all that mean? Well, turns out that everything is explain in the Windows CE 6.0 documentation available here. This can also be taken as a confirmation that Windows Phone 7 is CE 6 based I guess…

New Windows Phone 7 portal Launched: Samsung Focus launching on AT&T on November 8th

Microsoft has apparently launched it new Windows Phone 7 portal by accident and featured the US launch date of November 8 and the actual retail name of the Samsung Cetus launching on AT&T. The Cetus is going to be officially called the Samsung Focus as previously leaked and is definitely launching in early November in the US. Unfortunately Microsoft was quick to delete all this info which is now nowhere to be found on the portal.

Samsung Cetus, Samsung Focus, HTC Surround and 3 other Windows Phone 7 devices hitting AT&T this fall

According to Engadget’s sources AT&T is expected to launch 6 Windows Phone 7 handsets this fall. The Samsung Cetus i917 which we already heard about, the Samsung Focus which I guess is the Samsung i8700 we saw lately, the HTC Surround which may be the HTC T8788 and 3 other device. If I had to guess I would say that the LG E900 and LG C900 are 2 of the unnamed devices and probably an other HTC handset (the HTC Schubert which has been spotted on ATT’s network ) but there’s no sign of the Dell Lightning. This should come as a surprise to anyone after the statement that AT&T will be the lead Windows Phone 7 launch partner in the US. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is also headed to the carrier’s roster.

The leaks won’t stop! He re are the first live pictures of the Samsung CetusSGH-i917 Windows Phone 7 handset. It looks fairly similar to the Samsung Galaxy S and the screen is definitely AMOLED (most probably Super-AMOLED). The device is expected to launch on AT&T this fall. I wouldn’t be surprised if it had the same specification as the other leaked Samsung WP7 handset we saw last week. More pictures after the break:

New Samsung Windows Phone 7 device out in the wild

Looks like the Samsung Cetus isn’t the only Windows Phone 7 the Korean company is planning to launch this fall. A new handset has been spotted on Twitter a few minutes ago. The design looks kinda weird if you ask me and those sharp edges could be deadly IMO ;) . The screen looks like it’s a Super AMOLED panel thought.
