Windows Phone 7 Mac connector V2.0 for Mango released

Microsoft has just released the V.20 version of the Windows Phone Mac connector just in time for the Mango roll out. This update is packed full of new features that will finally put it on par with the Zune PC application (but not in terms of UI obviously). It even includes a user configurable video encoding functionality that isn’t present on the PC. It also seem to have a dedicated ringtones section unlike the Zune PC application which requires the user to manually rename the audio file so it can be recognized as a ringtone by the device.

Windows Phone 7 Mac connector updated with new features and performance improvements

Microsoft has just released an update to the Windows Phone 7 Mac connector that allows Apple user to sync their WP7 handset with their Mac desktop computer. The 1.2 version changelog adds the following:

Windows Phone 7 Mac connector finally out of beta and available in iTunes

Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 Mac connector (and Zune HD connector too) is now finally out of beta and available for download directly from Apple’s iTunes application store (for OSX).

Windows Phone 7 Connector is a simple, easy-to-use application designed to sync your favorite media files from your Mac, with your Windows Phone 7 or Zune HD. You can also sync photos and videos you captured on your phone with your Mac, and when needed, update your Windows Phone 7 software.

Windows Phone 7 Mac connector update released

Microsoft has just released and updated version of the Window Phone 7 Mac connector software that fixes several issues that were present in the previous version:

New features:

Purchased audio content is synced from device

New device setup experience

Browse device now supports manual import from device, delete from device and preview.

Improvements and fixes:

Performance improvements in sync process

Photos are now organized by their iPhoto event if present and by album otherwise

Improved video preparation process

Improved support for pin lock and unlock of device

Improved meta data transfer settings (bookmarks, rating and release dates and now transferred)

Fixed issue with remote iTunes installations

Fixed issue with .AAC and certain .MP4 files not playing on device

Apple Lossless encoded files are no longer synced as they are unsupported on device. They will be ignored like protected content. Please convert these files, as necessary.

Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac Beta released

The handfull of Mac users who are interested in Windows Phone 7 devices should be happy to learn that the Beta versiono f the Windows Phone 7 Connector applicayion that letsyou syc your phone with your Apple PC is now available for download. Keep in mind that this isn’t the Zune software at all but a simple applications that will let users syncronize their music, videos, podcast and photos with iTunes and iPhoto. Download it here.

Windows Phone 7 Sync software for Mac coming later this year

Contrary to what some people believe this isn’t going to be a Mac version of the Zune desktop software but a syncing tool similar to what was available on the Mac for the Kin devices earlier this year (screenshot above). Not much is known about it but Microsoft is promising a beta before the end of the year for all the potential Mac users who wish to buy a Windows Phone 7 device.

Later in 2010 Microsoft will make a public beta available of a tool that allows Windows Phone 7 to sync select content with Mac computers.

At last! RIM announced that a Mac compatible desktop syncing software is coming soon. It will support OS 10.5.5 and above. Some of the key features included are :
