The LG C900 Windows Phone 7 handset passes the FCC

Yesterday was the LG C900′s turn to pass the FCC certification. There isn’tmuch information about the device yet other than the pictures leaked last week and the user-agent I found back in April. I’m guessing that the device will have the same specifications as the LG Panther / GW910 but with a nicer hardware keyboard and different button layout. The C900 was also certified by the Bleutooth SIG yesterday and is AT&T bound in the US .

LG C900 Windows Phone 7 handset certified by the Bluetooth SIG: Launching soon

According to the BlueTooth SIG website the LG C900 Windows Phone 7 handset is expected to launch around September 28th. This could mean a early October given thatLG’s head of PR confirmed to me a few weeks ago that it wasn’t September. The first week of October is going to be the most probable and earliest launch window for WP7 in EU (Steve Ballmer will be in Paris for a WP7 event on Octboer 7th, exactly one year after he launched Windows Mobile 6.5 at a similar event in Paris too). So get your wallets ready for a flood of Windows Phone 7 handsets this October. The US launch is widely expected to take place a few weeks later (remember the leaked T-mobile roadmap pointing to a November 17th for the HTC Schurbert). The final development tools are only going to be available on September 16th and apps submssions will start in early October so don’t expect any WP7 device on the market in September.

LG C900 Windows Phone 7 handset in the wild

Looks like Engadget’s “source” is on a roll today. After the Samsung Cetus, T-Mobile G2 here comes the LG C900 Windows Phone 7 device. I was the first to reveal the existence of the C900 in April but nobody really cared it seems like nobody really cared back then. The LG C900 looks like the production version of the LG Panther / GW910 with its sliding qwerty keyboard and what looks like a 3.7 capacitive touchscreen. The device pictured also sports a AT&T branded rom. More pictures after the break:

LG on track to release its first Windows Phone 7 handset in October

Contrary to the popular belief that LG was going to ship its first Windows Phone 7 (which I later corrected after getting in contact with LG’sPR) the south Korean company is said to be on track to launch the first WP7 device in October in Europe. The first handset will sport a 3.8″ screen and no hardware keyboard which means that it will either be the LG C900 or LG E900. LG will then launch the first device in the US in November ( with hardware keyboards similar to the  LG Panther GW910). The LG Windows Phone 7device will be part of the Optimus line of smartphone along side the company’s Android Offerings.
