HTC has just released an OTA firmware update fixing a rather important bug affecting the recently released HTC Legend. The bug in question prevented third-party application to have access to the camera functionality of the handset. The results was that several applications on the Android market were unavailable to the HTC Legend users (QIK, Google Goggles etc..).

In our commitment to providing you with the best user experience, we are pushing out a new firmware update to your phone to enable apps that use the camera. Your phone will receive a notification of this update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Software Number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software information> Software number). If not, standard data connection charges may apply.
Brandon at Pocketnow has posted his review of the HTC Hero successor, the HTC Legend. The Legend runs Android 2.1 on Qualcomm MSM7227 clocked @ 600Mhz and packs 384MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. The Legend is IMO the best entry-level Android handset on the market right now (it can be purchased Free with a contract in Europe right now!) and the uni-body aluminum chassis makes it one of the best designed/manufactured phone out there.
Paul O’Brein did it again! The HTC Legend and HTC Desire are now rooted and Paul is working on the system partion right now. XDA Chefs get ready!

Netherlands’ KPN carrier seems to have jumped the gun by listing the upcoming HTC Legend on their website a few hours ago. There’s no doubt now that the Legend will be one of the handsets that HTC will officially unveiled next week at the MWC. KPN’s product page also notes that the device is expected to launch in March.

All those HTC Legend pictures are a sign that the handset is on its way to be officially launched next week at MWC. The specs of the device are exactly the same as those that were leaked a while ago (identical to the HTC Hero but with an AMOLED screen and MSM7227 @600Mhz).
We finally have some real live pictures of the HTC Legend Android smartphone. As you probably remember the HTC Legend is a sort-of an HTC Hero succesor with an optical trackpad (instead of the trackball) and a slightly higher specs CPU (MSM7227) @600Mhz. THe Legend will probably be officially announced nest week at MWC.
