HTC Touch2 reviewed

HTC Touch2 review
PhoneArena posted their review of HTC‘s entry-level Windows Mobile 6.5 smartphone the Touch2. Obvisouly there’s nothing new we haven’t seen before but if you are interested in this device be sure to check out the whole review:

Performance:

We have already mentioned the HTC Touch2 is a snappy performer. Even if you try to overburden it with too many applications (we tried to do that by simultaneously running Facebook, the internet browser, audio player, CoPilot while composing an email message), you won´t notice any lagging. Actually, we are not surprised really, because the phone comes with almost the same hardware resources as the HTC Touch Diamond2, but runs much lighter interface – it´s equipped with 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor, 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM (the Diamond2 sports 288MB RAM).

The new HTC Touch2 reviewed

Touch2 rev
Here’s another low-cost Windows Mobile 6.5 phones review for the day. This time it’s our Russian boys at Mobile-Review who where the first to get the hands on HTC’s Touch 2 (aka Mega) low-end Windows Mobile 6.5 device. Not much can be said about it, besides the new TouchFlo 2D UI which has some Sense-like goodness and the 3.5mm headphone jack. Other than that it’s basically the same has the Touch Cruise and Vogue released this year. What’s interesting though is that Opera Mobile is no longer bundle, instead IE Mobile 6 is the default browser..Check out the full review here.

HTC Click and Mega to be launched in Q4 2009

htcclick2
The Economic Daily News (citing Merill Lynch) is reporting that the Windows Mobile 6.5 HTC Mega and the Android based HTC Click are going to be launch this fall.

The FOB prices of both HTC Mega and Click will be tagged at around US$300 a unit which will help strengthen HTC’s competitiveness in the mid-range segment, the paper cited Merrill Lynch analyst Laura Chen as indicating.

HTC is expecting to see its revenues and shipments grow 11% and 19% in Q4 09 thanks to the launch of these two phones. but things aren’t looking nice in Europe where HTC is expects a decline of 20% as demand for its high-end smartphones (Diamond 2, Hero, Magic, Touch Pro2) is unlikely to improve.
