HTC announces the HTC Sensation XL with Beats audio

Want an HTC Titan but with Android instead of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango ? HTC got you covered with the newly announced HTC Sensation XL.The handset is essential nothing more than the Google version of the Titan as most of the hardware specifications are identical. You get the same aluminum uni-body frame, same 4.7″ SLCD screen , MSM8255 clocked at 1.5ghz etc. The only difference is the Beats audio (*cough*Software*cough*) audio equalizer/optimization and a pair of YourBeats in-ears. The Sensation XL should be available in November only in Europe. Press release after the break (in french sorry for that..):

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio announced

HTC has announced its first Beats Audio certified handset today; the HTC Sensation XE. As the name implies the Sensation EX is essentially nothing more than a premium version of the original HTC Sensation released earlier this year. The only difference is the higher clocked MSM8X60 SoC which is now running Dual-Core CPU at 1.5ghz instead of 1.2Ghz and the Beats Audio optimization (which I willing to beat are simply software based). The Sensation XE will also ship with Beats By Dre headphones just in case you didn’t get the memo about the $300M investment that HTC made in the audio brand a few weeks ago.

The HTC Sensation XE will be available in early October in Europe and Asia-Pacific. Nothing really exciting here besides the fact that this is HTC most powerful handset to date.

HTC investing 300Million in Beats Electronics

The Wall Street Journal just got the scoop on tomorrow’s HTC announcement and frankly it’s nothing to get excited about. According to CEO Peter Chou, HTC is going to announce a $300 Million investment in Beats Electronics / Monster (the company that builds the best selling Beats By Dr. Dre headphones among other hip electronic devices).

“With the magic of mobile devices, it is easier than ever to discover and buy new music,” HTC CEO Peter Chou said in in an interview. “However, without great sound experience it is a shame.”

The first HTC product to include the Beats technology will be introduced later this year with many more scheduled later on (Android ? Windows Phone 7?). So there you have…more useless stuff crammed into your handsets. Will the Beats enabled handset still ship with the same low quality headphones? Now that would be silly…
