The HTC Titan is here

Friendly heads up for all of you who interested in the HTC Titan; I just received one today and will post my first impression in the coming days. If you have any question about the handset (hardware, software etc) just post them in the comment section below and I will make sure to answer them. Justin case you ware still wondering: this thing is kinda huge…the SLCD panel is the best so far on any HTC handset but I still want a Super AMOLED Plus display… Anyway, let me know if you want to know anything.

first of all can you see the pixel or the resolution is ok?
2nd ok about super amoled plus but compered with simple super amoled from omnia7?
3rd is the size ok for everyday use as we know the omnia 7 is big for just 4′ is same as 4.3 galaxy sii

this device is for you or just for test?
what do you think the focus s will be better choise?

**please make an internet comparison with omnia7 and titan and also application start up test

1 – The resolution frankly doesn’t bother me and it’s really noticeable IMO.
2 – AMOLED (be it Super AMOLEd, AMOLED or SAMOLED + etc..): simply craps on on any LCD panel in termsof black (they are perfect) and response time (zero ghosting). That’s the only issue with the SLCD here (colors are great at extreme angles though).
3- the Titan is quite a bit bigger than the Omnia 7 . I would say that it’s somewhat similar if not slighty to the HTC HD2/7 (but thinner and doesn’t weight as much)

    4- Review Samplefrom HTC
    5- I want the Focus S! Or the non-existent European version :-(

6- will make several comparison videos..

I’d like to know if one-handed operation is feasible. Is it possible to write a text with one hand? Can you reach all items on the screen with your thumb when holding it one hand?

Currently I have a HD7 and I love it, so I have the following questions:

    1. Does it really worth buying one to replace my HD7?.
    2. Is it easy to hold by hand to make calls?
    3. The HD7 battery give me 12 hours of charging, how is the battery of Titan?.
    4. How well does the screen with the color purple?5. How is the camera resolution?
    5. It feels solid?
    6. How is the material? Cheap?
    7. The apps are faster?

     I have a few questions.

Number 1: How did you get HTC to send you a review sample? I’d love them to allow me to do that.
Number 2: If at all possible, would you please compare it to the HTC HD7, Sasmsung Omnia 7, and iPhone 4S? I really would love to know how it holds up against these phones. Also, a comparison with the Sensation would be nice.
Number 3: In particular, could you compare the photo quality of the Titan to the Omnia 7 and iPhone 4S? Theoretically, the Titan should shoot better photos than both I believe. The f-stop of 2.2 should let in more light than the aforementioned.

Thanks! If you can’t do these things, that’s alright. I’d just like to see a great review.

One handed operation isn’t much of an issue so far and I have small hands.

    1. If you want a better SLCD panel, FF camera and Gyro then yes,. If not then no need to hurry IMO. Perofmance is identical 90% of the time.
    2. Depends on your hands size.
    3. Don’t know yet only got it2 hours ago…
    4. Looks normal I guess. Color reproduction seems accurate contrary to the regular TFTs and Super AMOLED (Super AMOLED + is well…perfect if correctly calibrated by the OEM)
5/6 Best build quality of any HTC handsets I have ever used.
    7. Currently ?Not really. If you aren’t looking for it then you want see any difference at all compared to a First Gen WP7 handset.

    1. Have a blog/site with tons of traffic and contact HTC (and be close to their HQ in your country)
    2. Will compared it mostly to my Omnia 7? I unfortunately no longer have access to the others (besides my old HD2 and my Galaxy S).
    3. Will do so. The camera is faster tan the other but not sure about the over IQ. HTC still has that annoying purple thin though… (less than in the past though..). Compare to HTC’s previous cams ? it’s tons better. Compared to the competition..we will see.

Thanks and thanks for the reply. May have to make my own blog site lol

Thank u for your quick replay. I have one more question:

What is the use the gyroscope?

  • Anonymous

Hey man, the thing im most curious about is the speed. Against our omnia, how much faster it really is? There are some apps that are not that smooth (like spout). What about the web browser, does it get any smoother. If you scroll the browser fast, does it keep up?

Do you think this would run on T-Mobile’s network (USA)?

    Hi,

Do have any headsets with controls on them? i am particularly interested to know if the forward/backward, play/pause and volume controls will work with the TITAN. i have a Dre beats headset and was wondering if i will be able to control music playback without having to touch the screen.

Secondly, i am sadly re-considering the TITAN after seing images of the Focus S – its now up to Nokia to awe or disappoint next week. wish Nokia can come up with at least a 4.3 incher with a higher memory, 16gb just does not cut it, but i could live with it.

    thanks in advance
    JP

Currently the Gyro isn’t used in any app but its support should be implemented in the upcoming ones. movement detection is a lot better with it than with the compass/G-sensor alone.

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

I’ll try to get my hands on some remote controlled headsets and let you know.
The principal advantage of the Focus S is the Super AMOLED Plus screen which is phenomenal.

Hey there, Can you differ the pixels with naked eye?

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Depends on the content displayed on the screen (text or images etc..) But frankly it’s not that big of an issue at all contrary to what other sites are claiming.

  • jeff

Yes the quality of LCD is more important, I have a high quality Sony display which is 15inch and only 1280*800 and you cant differ the pixels as hard as you try, While it was obvious on something like HD2. It seems that htc used some of the better panels and it shows off here: http://1876.voxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/gld510ix.jpg

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Yup the panel is miles better than what they used before. Only downside is that it will never have the blacks and response time of an AMOLED.
