UPDATE: Unfortunately Samsung Omnia 7 owners on SFR (France) and T-Mobile (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Macedonia, Netherlands, UK) won’t get it now…

UPDATE: The notification will on be sent to 10% of the users out there this week and more will follow if everything goes as planned. So don’t panic if you don’t see anything today or tomorrow.

UPDATE: I just posted instructions on how to manually update the Samsung Omnia 7 firmware (that’s not the force trick method at all)

Public Service Annnouncement: Please remember that the Mango update is made of 2 separate updates: OS and Firmware. Most of you are only getting the OS update right now and this isn’t enough for an optimal experience. You’ll have to wait for the OEM Firmware update which contains updated drivers and Radio. You could also try to force the update via the old method.

UPDATE: For all you Samsung Omnia 7 users, the official firmware should look like this (thx to @degsyh and Paul in the comments below):

- Firmware version is now: 2424.11.8.5
- Radio Software version : 2424.11.27.2
- Bootloader: 5.8.1.9

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Let’s wait until the European roll out starts. Which version of Mango are you currently running? if you are on the 7712  beta (with a dev unlocked device) you won’t have to roll back to NoDo.

Edit: it’s a go in Eurpoe too but not for the SFR Branded Omnia 7, T-Mobile branded Omniaè etc.. meh

  • Counterfitninja

    Just gone live on HD7 O2 Uk…

  • Ccmd_232

International updates are rolling out as well, almost all of them. Haven’t received anything yet though

  • droody

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1629559268 Martin Müller

I have an Omnia 7 on T-Mobile (Germany) with Mango Beta and was able to install the final version a few minutes ago. But I had to check manually via Zune.

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Now that’s crazy! Thanks for the info Martin! What’s your new firmware/rom version now ?

  • http://twitter.com/jbarinas Juan Barinas

Zune is installing the update on my Dell Venue Pro! So the DVP update is clearly not in Planning anymore. :-D

  • http://twitter.com/AgileHobo Agile Hobo

Seems Microsoft set phones with Mango beta higher priority.

  • Michel

I’m updating to mango now. I have an omnia 7 flashed with samfirmware ROM I8700BSEKC1. I live in Belgium but i use a t-mobile sim (although i don’t think it matters since i have an open market phone because of the flashed ROM).

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1629559268 Martin Müller

    Software: Windows Phone 7.5
Betriebssystemversion 7.10.7720.68 (should be OS Version)

That’s the final version of Mango, right?

  • Ryu2k8

Anyone from Germany with O2 and HTC HD7 has Mango Update Notification? or via Zune

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Yup! but what’s the firmware version though? (all the stuff that you see when you hit “more info”)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1629559268 Martin Müller

    Firmwarevisionsnummer: 2424.11.2.3
    Hardwarevisionsnummer: 3.15.0.4

    Funkhardwareversion: 0.0.0.800
    Bootloaderversion: 5.2.1.4
    Chip SOC Version: 0.36.2.0

    Anything else?! :-)

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Ah well that’s weird cause the leaked T-Mobile Mango firmware is newer than the one that was pushed to your phone. Did you actually get both updates during the all process (OS and Firmware)? And Finally can you try the Allshare Samsung application and see if it works ?

  • F.E:.

    HTC Mozart,BiH,I’m still waiting…

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1629559268 Martin Müller

There was only one update if I check Zune right now it says that everything is up to date. So you mean I’ll receive another update?

I’ll try the allshare app next weekend because I don’t have a Samsung TV around. Or can I test it without it?!….If so…what should I test?

    Omnia 7 SFR… GETTING MANGO!

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Yes I just double checked and it looks like your firmware hasn’t bee updated yet.
You can try it right now. Just let me know if it actually launches (the issue we all had was that it didn’t launch at all and display a “your device is not compatible” error message). Thanks a lot!

  • kwabz

Just updated my Omnia 7 to Mango
Omnia 7 unbranded on Bouygues Telecom (France)

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Was the Firmware updated too ?

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Was the Firmware updated too ? Apparently Omnia 7 user who are getting the notifications are only receving the OS update right now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1629559268 Martin Müller

I get the same error message when I try to launch the allshare app:-(

I’ll check Zune for the real final update again (tomorrow)….keep you posted!

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Thanks Martin! Definitely looks like you only got the OS.

  • kwabz

    My firmware is still 2424.10.10.6

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Oki then the Mango update isn’t totally done on your handset. You will need to Samsung driver update (firmware).

  • http://twitter.com/ErrorholicDev Errorholic

have anyone more tha 5 diffult language?

  • Paul Broomhead

    Try this:

Connect your phone to your PC and check for updates via Zune
If it says no update is available, check again but immediately disconnect from the internet
After 30 seconds or so you should be told an update is available
Reconnect to the internet and perform the update

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Conor-Raypholtz/100001495640371 Conor Raypholtz

    same here

  • Fredrik

I got Mango on  my phone by doing the disconnect-trick in Zune. I am now running Mango on Samsung Omnia 7, firmware revision 2424.11.8.5.
However, I live in Finland I really was looking forward to getting Swedish as language option, but I still only have the 5 original languages to choose from. What to do to get the new languages?

  • Dennise Darko

Got Mango update via Zune today for my Omnia 7 … however without OEM additions (still old firmware, bootloader, etc.) :-S

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

That’s a good question. Apparently languages included in the Firmware are depended on your Carrier. I’m guessing that you are unbranded ?

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Don’t worry it shouldn’t take long before it arrives.

  • Fredrik

…and I have to say that it feels like a new phone, much faster, and what a difference mango makes, it corrects almost every issue I had with 7.0, fantastic!

  • Fredrik

    Yes, unbranded.

  • Ccmd_232

I tired the tunneling method and it showed that there is an update but not Mango, it’s 7.0.7403, is that part of the process? My phone is unbranded Samsung Omnia 7, NoDo OS (7.0.7392.0), FW: 2424.11.3.1

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

YEs you should upgrade to 7403 then the 7720 update will show up.

  • Ccmd

Ok thanks man, you are the best, I’ll update my phone and update here once I finish :)

  • Arelamo

I only got “2424.11.7.2″ as Radio Software version.. the rest you ( @MobileTechWorld:disqus ) listed at the bottom of the article is the same. Strange..

  • Ccmd

I just finished updating. Unbranded Samsung Omnia 7. After the update, the Firmware, Radio and Bootloaders have been updated as well as mention above by MobileTechWorld.

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

    Sorry it was a typo..

  • Marco

Same here: i got only the OS update! (Italian Omnia 7) We must find a solution! :)

  • http://twitter.com/Rafyelzz Rafael Muñoz

Im exactly on same situation as Martin. Updated but just OS, so i’m gonna risk with the firmware

  • Arelamo

    Good to know :)

  • Anonymous

Just got the Mango update, after using the Zune update/disconnect trick.

  • omnia 7 – mango

used the cut internet method to update to mango, but i got a weird issue, my firmware revision number on my omnia 7 is 0222.11.8.5!!!!! no typo!!!

    hardware revision number: 3.15.0.4
    radio software version: 2424.11.7.2
    radio hardware version: 0.0.0.800
    bootloader version: 5.8.1.9

whats the best thing for me to do??????

  • Bexmax

    Hi everyone!

Last night, I plugged my Omnia 7 to my laptop, checked for updates,..and there you go! I got notification that update is available!
The lat version I had was NoDo and I didnt flash any leaked versions before so I guess that’s it!

It required two rows of installation processes. The first one updated first to 7403 (if i’m not wrong) and than when finalized and when it went “checking for any additional updates” it started allover again and updated to 7.12.7720.68 aka Mango!

I found it weird a bit give that I live in Kosovo and expected rollaout here at a very last stage, but seems I got a bit lucky :) .

I was wondering if anyone has a tip where I can read about the new features for Mango? I’ts maybe stuppid to say, but except for a bit faster work of the device and few tiny display things, I don’t quite see any major upgrade here.

Yes I’m sure, I have mango installed on my device now.

    Thanks!

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

App updates are the same as usual. If it’s installed on you device you will get the update prompt in the Marketplace app to update it.

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Everything you want to know about the new Mango features:
    http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2011/05/26/all-of-the-new-windows-phone-7-mango-features/

BTW make sure that you also got the Firmware update too. Yours should now be 2424.11.8.5

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Oddly enough you are not the only one with this firmware version. Seem to be the final one though. Are you on SFR in France ?

  • Bexmax

Just checked it and seems to be the one you wrote there :-) !

As usual, you are the best man :-)

    Thanks a lot!

  • omnia 7 – mango

orange UK, phone is fine to use, but 0222 this seems really old when it should be 2424.

i did the update on my laptop, but stupidly as guest mode so have no backup. i updated to nodo on my home pc, so im thinking when i next go home from uni il roll back and then try the update. think this might help?

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

This may very well be the Orange branded version of the firmware so I wouldn’t worry much about it. You can roll back and try again if you want though just to be sure.

  • omnia 7 – mango

thanks man, i noticed in a previous post you asked if the samsung all share app works, it didnt when i tried it. hopefully orange Uk do have an upgraded firmware, but im not too worried as phone seems to be working fine. il just roll back and try the legitimate update later.

  • http://www.mobiletechworld.com MobileTechWorld

Yes the Allshare app still doesn’t work even on the latest firmware. Let’s hope that Samsung updates it and doesn’t restrict it to the new models.

  • Anonymous

I got the forced version of mango with the wrong firmware so I restored it back to Nodo. Does this mean I’ll be able to get mango when the official mango version comes out or have I just blown my chance of getting the official mango?

  • Harald Heide Gundersen

    Samsung Omnia 7 Norway
Still no update.  Current phone software version 7.0 (7393) (from Update in zune)
Will wait a couple of days more before going for forced update… :-)

  • Alasdair Crow

I upgraded to this [7.0.7403] and it has ruined the phone – downloaded Apps won’t run, Marketplace, Maps, IE and other MS Apps won’t open etc.

Worst part is, Zune won’t display “Restore” because the update window just keeps searching and searching… What can I do? The 7720 upgrade never showed up.

  • http://twitter.com/sgrecordsitalia SG Records

Hi, I’ve an Orange UK Omnia 7 and my firmware is still 0222. Also tried to revert to NoDo and upgrade again without cut internet trick, but it doesn’t upgrade the firmware.
    Did you find a solution?
