Windows Phone 7.5 Mango video chat demonstrated on the HTC titan

Here’s a short promotional video courtesy of Microsoft’s Windows Phone team demonstrating video chat using the soon to be released mulch-platform Tango app running on Mango on an HTC Titan handset. Besides the fact that this is the first time that we see video chat in action on a Windows Phone 7 device there’s nothing really ground breaking in thre that couldn’t already be done countless years ago. Check it out after the break:

So far all of the new windows phone 7.5 handsets announced feature a front facing camera (minus the Fujitsu IS12T) . Hopefully Nokia’s first Windows Phone handset will also pack one.

As far as I can tell from the short clip, the front facing camera wasn’t active in that demonstration.  The small screen in the lower left-hand corner seemed to be showing what the rear camera was seeing.  I still want that phone…but $850?  Geez!

Both cameras where used. Look at the screenshot above and you’ll see the FF cam in action. :)

I kinda thought iPhone had set the price point for phones of similar specs.  $850 is absurd for a phone, almost bordering on sabatoge.  Who can afford this phone after being an early adopter of lesser spec phones that debuted last year?
Either way good to see how the hardware & software mesh!

stop obsessing with junk – you do NOT need new phone every 6 months – not even every 2 years
