First Render of the HTC Omega Windows Phone 7 Mango handset

Here’s what is supposedly the first render of the HTC Omega Windows Phone 7 handsets that will most probably be unveiled on September 1st. I personally don’t really like the design (looks like a small HTC Flyer) and from the looks of it the screen seems to be rather small (3.7 or 3.8″ and SLCD). The device also seem to feature a front facing camera just like the Samsung SGH-i937and probably several other Mango devices. On the hardware specification front there’s no info yet so we can only speculated that it will feature a Qualcomm MSM8255 inside (or MSM7230) and a camera sensor of either 5Mpix or 8Mpix.

So much wasted space on that phone.

    Agreed. looks ridiculous.

We really need a manufacturer to design a real halo phone comparable to an iphone 4 in quality and design.  Hopefully that will be Nokia.  Not sure why these other manufacturers are first to market with mango phones while the premier partner has yet to release or announce anything.

now lets focus on Nokia & Samsung …

It doesn’t look like it has a front-facing camera – it’s way too small. It could be a proximity sensor or for brightness calibration.

Looks like the sucesor of the HTC Trophy, in the front and on the side it really looks nearly equal and back it looks like the HTC Wildfire S, and it seems to have a 3.8″ screen just like the HTC 7 Trophy. Personally i hope it has 1.5 GHz overclocked MSM8255, but I don’t believe what they say. But I believe it has a 8 mpx and finally 30 fps 720p: hope the camera is like in the Sensation (that is the best htc camera), because usually htc camera are ridiculous. Personally i like very much the design. But to change my HTC Trophy i need a bigger screen by HTC or a Nokia. But if this would be the only WP Mango phone with Vodafone Spain, than i have to take it.

Yup, my hope lies with Nokia.

The proximity sensor and ambient light sensor are next to each other on the left. Front facing camera are ridiculously small now (this on looks about the same as the one on the HTC Sensation). But, let’s wait for the official specs for confirmation though.

The HTC Sensation cam still isn’t that to compared to Samsung’s (and obviously Nokia):

Yes I know that but for what HTC uses to deliver its quite good, that is what I mean. My Samsung Wave and my Xperia Neo take much better pictures than the Trophy. And I holpe also that they put little more mAh on their batteries, because 1230 mAh for a 4.3″ or 1300 mAh for a 3.8″ S-LCD screen for me is ridiculous.
