Zune Desktop software version 4.8 released

Microsoft has just released the final version of the Zune Desktop software version 4.8 today. This will allow Windows Phone 7 handsets to receive the Mango update in the coming weeks and should include the much awaited ringtones management feature that was announced a little while ago (and was already available in the Beta version released in the past months). Acer M310 / W4 Windows Phone 7 Mango phone to feature HDMI TV-Out ?

Paul Spain who attended the Tech-ED NZ event today has laid his eyes on a new Windows Phone 7 Mango handsets from Acer dubbed the MC310 (which may also be named the Acer W4). The interesting tid-bit though is that the device apparently had an HDMI output unlike any of the other Windows Phone 7 we have seen so far. I would definitely like to see a picture of it to confirm it though because this was never mentioned in the Acer W4 specs sheet and could very well be something only available a prototype version of the handset (or simply a micro-usb port which can look similar to the new mini-hdmi ports).

LG E906 spotted in the wild

Based on the pictures in this post the LG E906 which was certified back in May is nothing more than an Mango running, Jill Sander branded LG Optimus 7 with a new external design. The chip S.O.C rom version even seems to indicate that it’s powered by the same old QSD8250 SOC. So nothing much to be excited about folks. More picture after the break:

Windows Phone Mango application submission opened and Windows Phone 7.1 RC SDK released

As promised last month Microsoft has finally opened the Marketplace submission for Windows Phone Mango application today:

The infrastructure for accepting your Mango apps is coming online as we speak! Some of you may already be seeing new content as we conduct a final round of tests. Stay tuned for a more detailed overview of the Mango app submission process within the next 24 hours.

Microsoft has also released the RC (Release Candidate) of the Windows Phone 7.1 SDK allowing you to compile your code to the latest OS version before submitting it to the AppHub. You can download it directly from here.
