HTC Eternity flagship Windows Phone info leaked?


File this under the un-confirmed salty rumor category..What you see up here is supposedly HTC’s upcoming flagship Windows Phone running Mango and launching this fall and called the HTC Eternity. It is claimed to have an MSM8255 SoC with the CPU clocked at 1.5Ghz (like the HTC Flyer tablet), 16GB of storage, 8MP camera, 1.3 Front facing camera, DNLA support and last be not least a 4.7″ Super LCD WVGA screen. If true, then this thing is simply to big IMO.

Front facing camera support in Windows Phone 7 Mango

Today’s update Mango Beta 2 emulator finally confirms that the updated mobile OS will include support for front facing cameras as long as the OEM decides to include one. This should come as a surprise to those of you who have attended MIX11 or watch the online webcast as this was hinted at in of the Q&A. When asked about Front-facing camera support the Microsoft employee said that he couldn’t comment but added that nothing prevented OEMs from adding them on their upcoming devices.

Windows Phone 7 Mango Beta under NDA for developers

If you’ve already received your invite for the Mango beta dev update then you most probably know what I’m referring to:

8. Confidentiality: By participating in this program, the developer agrees to not publish any content, screenshots or comments in any media in advance of the official launch of Windows Phone ‘Mango’.

Sounds nice right? I’m all for NDAs but Microsoft will have to tell me why the US press (who received the same bits) was allowed to talk about it , post pictures , videos (even I did back in May in my preview after VIP event) but we are not? Seriously I’m not going to restore my device every time I want to shoot an application review or hands-on like a did this morning with Angry Birds, etc… Does this also mean that I4m no longer allowed to talk about report about anything Mango related now?
