Windows Home Server 2011 Windows Phone 7 connector RC released

Microsoft has finally released the RC of the Windows Server Solutions Phone Connector announced back in January (or Windows Home Server 2011 Windows Phone connector…whatever you want to call it..). This mobile application will allow enable Remote Server Management tasks and relay media streams and notifications from WHS 2011  to Windows Phone 7 handsets. The application currently supports the following features:

- Non-DRM MP3 files can be streamed to the phone
- Pictures
- Videos as long as format, resolution and bitrate are supported by the device
- Alerts
- Notifications
- Manage users and devices joined to the server

You can download it directly from here but remember that WHS 2011 is required for it to work.

Totally useless, at least for me.  When will we get the ability to sync files directly to our PC (and Outlook) rather than being forced to use the cloud?  Remember the good old days?  This is the only kind of “Windows Phone 7 Connector” I’m interested in right now.
