Acer W4 Windows Phone 7 Mango handset unveiled

Acer is showing off their first Windows Phone 7 handset at the Computex tradeshow in Taiwan today. The Acer W4 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8255 SoC ,which is currently the most powerful chipset certified for Windows Phone 7, has a 3.6″ WVGA screen, 8Gb of Storage and a 5MPix camera. Nothing really breathtaking here obviously but it good to see that OEMs are getting ready for this fall’s launch More pictures after the break:

I always forget that new products are coming out every day, and if I really expected Acer to come out with a ff camera, or the “must haves” that the other OS’s have then I’ll come away disapointed.  Damn good to see these makers come in and hopefully this is the “low end” and the “high end” will be something we can look forward to with Mango!

MS is playing with fire… this old specs… no face camera…they wonder why sales are bad…

New Hardware its like copy&paste its not really important, but for the image of the end user it counts more then they think…

Well there isn’t much MS can do right now. The MSM8X55 is going to be the highest end for this year and the current kernel still doesn’t support Dual-Core CPUs so we will have to live with it. The rumored/estimated low sales are cause by one simple thing (IMO): No / Shitty marketing.

i think WebOS is running on a 1.4Ghz… single core… its better then this hardware…

btw MS really needs to support multi-core CPU on kernel…
