Windows Phone 7 Makertplace issue: Service maintenance or technical problem?

You are probably well aware that the Windows Phone 7 marketplace is experience some difficulties today. Users can’t purchase or simply download content from the applications store (paid apps, Free apps, trials, updates etc..) and the Zune Pass service was also apparently down too. I first un-officially heard that a maintenance / update was taking place (another user phoned MS and got the same answer).

4th & Mayor is not the official Windows Phone 7 Foursquare app

There has been a lot of confusion regarding the status of the official Windows Phone 7 Foursquare application which has disappeared from the Marketplace a few days ago. The Link to the original applications now point to Jeff Wilcox’s awesome 4th & Mayor application so people assumed that it replaced the original app and became the official app for the platform.

Windows Phone 7 ChevronUpdater issue being fixed. Microsoft explains the situation

If you have previously used the ChevronUpdater to update you Windows Phone 7 handset to NoDo then there’s a chance that you won’t be able to update your handset anymore. This was previously announced by Microsoft and was the reason why the hack was taken down a few hours after it went public. Now that the 7392 update is being rolled out some of the users who previously used the hack are unable to successfully in tall the update on their handsets. Fortunately a fix is being worked on by the man behind the original hack, and Microsoft is in the process of validating it.
