Windows Phone 7 7392 security update pushed out

The recently rumored IE Mobile certificate security update for Windows Phone 7 is a go. The OS version is 7392 and some users are apparently now receiving the update notification on their devices as seen in the screenshot above. As with all previous updates (and future ones); this one will require the Zune desktop software. This update package also includes all the previous NoDo features like copy/paste and faster app resume.

Bing to be default search engine and mapping on Blackberry devices

Steve Ballmer took everybody by surprised a few minutes ago when he appeared on stage next to Rim’s CEO Mike Lizaridis during the BlackBerry World 2011 conference keynote. What was he there for? To announce that Bing will be the default search engine and on all future BlackBerry devices alongside Bing Maps which will be the default mapping services on the Canadian company’s handsets Update: and the PlayBook tablet. Microsoft’s services will be tightly integrated into the Blackberry OS according to Ballmer. The war for mobile search and locations services has just begun.

Windows Phone 7 not properly working with Ford Sync after NoDo update?

I don’t have much info about this issue but according to one of my readers his Windows Phone 7 handsets lots the ability to send sms messages through his car’s Ford sync system via Bluetooth after updating to NoDo.

after Nodo my Ford Sync (by MS) says my #wp7 no longer supports sms over Bluetooth. that was an awesome feature that made all my friends jealous, and now it no longer works, what a bummer

Anybody else can confirm this or has encountered a similar Bluetooth issues after receiving the update ? Please let us know in the comments below.

Get 3 Months of Zune Pass offered when you buy an AT&T Windows Phone 7 phone

Amazon Wireless, AT&T and Microsoft are offering 3 Months of Zune Pass ( value $45) if you either a buy a Samsung Focus, HTC Surround or LG Quantum which are now offer for only one penny (links below). This is not much but still better than nothing (Some other carriers around the word like Telstra in AUS have been offering free Xbox 360 consoles..). The users will then have to go to the Zunemusicnow website to get the free pass. The offer will last until June 26.

Official Bank Of America app for Windows Phone 7 available

The official Bank of America application for Windows Phone 7 first announced during the CES 2011 keynote in January is now available in the Marketplace. The app seems to be packed with features and from what I’ve just tried it is also one of the smoothest and responsive out now. It’s also definitely nice to see the newest Bing Maps control (introduced in the latest sdk) being used here instead of the old one found in most of the current WP7 apps ( this one’s it’s a lot smoother and doesn’t lag when panning and zooming).
