Nokia's first Windows Phone 7 handsets to be the Nokia W7 and Nokia W8? Both using Qualcomm chipsets

Ready for some Nokia Windows Phone 7 rumors? Eldar who is known to get early nuggets from Nokia insiders (and is currently being sued by the company) just spilled the beans about Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 handsets. The first one being the Nokia W7 which according to him is similar in design to the Nokia X7 (running Symbian) but with WP7 and a Qualcomm QSD8250 SoC. That’s right, just like I told you back in February Qualcomm was doing everything to stay the only chipset provider for Windows Phone 7. Now this is obviously still unconfirmed but according to what is being said the phone following the W7; the Nokia W8 will also pack a Qualcomm SoC but the model has not yet been determined (Nokia is apparently try to secure a deal for the most powerful Qualcomm chipset to be available in Q2/Q3 2012 (Eldar speculates that it’s the MSM8960 with e Adreno 320 GPU but this can’t be the case given that this model isn’t expected before the end of 2012 and early 2013) so they can have the most powerful Windows Phone 7 handset on the market. This W8 will have a design similar to the current Nokia N8.

Anyway, this is all unconfirmed stuff and you should obviously take it with a pinch of salt (espcially with Eldar…). What is getting clearer now is that Nokia is working hard on getting it’s first (QSD8250 based) Windows Phone 7 device out by the end of the year but it will most probably slip to January or February. Eldar also points out that the Finish company has 12 other WP7 products designs (other than the W7 and W8) currently being worked on for 2012

I have the Samsung Focus, but I have to say, Nokia has the sexiest WP7 design concepts yet.
