Chicks ‘N’ Vixens: Angry Birds remake for Windows Phone 7

Can’t wait for Angry Birds to come out on Windows Phone7?  Here’s your chance to have a similar gaming experience on your new WP7 smartphone; just go grab the free beta of Chicks ‘N’ Vixens from the Marketplace here. The game is obviously a straight of remake of the original game developed by Rovio and that has yet to be released on Microsoft’s mobile platform. The only major difference is the gesture used to aim your chickens (feels kinda awkward IMO). You can follow the developer’s blog here. Check out my short hands-on video after the break.

Fruit Ninja For Windows Phone 7 selling well but Microsoft still has to promote the platform

Shainiel Deo, CEO of Halfbrick Software developers of Fruit Ninja (not to be confused with his Marketing director), has announced that the Windows Phone 7 version the game has sold in the “high tens of thousands”. Keep in mind that WP7 is priced at $2.99 compared to $0.99 on iOS and Android so “high tens of thousands” so quite good for a platform that has just launched and in the hands of barely 2 Million users (and some of them can’t even buy apps on the Marketplace yet).

Hate it or love it but 2011 is shaping up to be Android’s year. With Microsoft’s ineptitude to update Windows Phone 7 in a timely fashion (and communicate a clear roadmap) Google is freely steamrolling on the competition.

Updated Windows Phone 7 developer SDK with copy and paste support coming out today ?

According Microsoft’s Brandon Watson an update to the Windows Phone 7 SDK will be released today and included a new emulator image featuring the much needed copy and paste feature.

The update coming out late Thursday or Early Friday will be involving a new OS image, which will include Copy Paste Assistance for developers, and hints to a OS update in the coming month. We assume by the end of Feb. Early March.

This is a rather vague statement here. So the first OS update..or should I say FIX is now coming out at the end of February or in March? Oh and the SDK update doesn’t even include any new APIs. Nice job Microsoft! Doesn’t matter that you getting steamrolled by Google’s Android right?

UPDATE: The new SDK is now out.
