Asus and Garmin break up. No Windows Phone 7 handset in sight

Yesterday Asus announced that it will not renew its business relationship with Garmin in the smartphone market which in turn may delay the launch of some of the current products in the works. Today the company has also stated that the focus is currently on Android and not on Windows Phone 7:

“As always, Garmin-Asus seeks the best for our consumers either on Android platform or on Windows platform. However, we see the potential of Android platform devices, so we are focusing on Android platform currently,”

The Asus E600 prototype we saw a little while ago wasn’t intended to be a retail product (that’s what I was told a while ago).
