Windows Phone 7 doesn’t support Tethering yet

Well this kinda confirms what I knew all along  (and also confirmed by Telstra) but was contradicted yesterday. The current version of Windows Phone 7 doesn’t support Tethering at all. I check and double checked on several Rom version and the option was never there (yeah even post-RTM..). Grab some tissue and wait for a update later which will enable this feature.

One more LG Optimus 7 preview: Voice to Text feature revealed

Looks like it’s Optimus 7 day today. After last hour’s giant hands-on video here comes a written preview of the LG E900 / Optimus 7 which was pointed out to me by a friendly Korean reader. Here’s a brief summary of the HanKyung preview:

Don’t forget to vote for MobileTechWorld!

Let’s try to hit 100! As you already know the MobileTechWorld application entered the Windows Phone 7 developer contest currently underway and which will end on October 7th in the presence of Steve Ballmer. Tons of applications have already been submitted (I talked about several of them already here) and many are still being submitted everyday. So I’m asking you folks to vote for it so it can released reach the 100 mark (and also vote for any other application that you like!). Both videos of the application have already reach nearly 2000 views on YouTube but the voting process is so unfriendly that the vast majority just don’t take the time to for the applications once they hit the FaceBook page. To register a vote you’ll have to be loged-into Facebook then like the Microsoft Developer account (then refresh the page) and finally like the video.

It’s only a few clicks away and many of the developers are waiting for your votes! Please >> Click Here <<

Nokia to start making Windows Phone 7 phones?

Looks like the “Nokia is switching to Windows Phone7″ rumors are back in full force thanks to the nomination of Stephen Elop as the new CEO of the Finnish company (he is Microsoft’s ex-President of Business Division). According to one of Venturebeat’s “trusted source” the company is contemplating the possibility of adding Windows Phone 7 as an additional platform for its phones. Unfortunately this is the only thing said in about this in the VB article so you better grab a hand-full of salt.

It is the carrier’s choice to enable tethering on Windows Phone 7 ?

A week old podcast featuring Microsoft’s Brandon Watson confirms what we have heard exactly one week go (I guess that the info originated from the same source.). Windows Phone 7 will  apparently support tethering but only if your carrier enables it (and charges you for it). This is exactly like on the iPhone and to some extend Android (when you by it with a contract carriers rip the tethering function out of the rom..).
