Motorola Droid 2 Walkthrough videos

Motorola and Verizon have uploaded a couple of walkthrough videos dedicated to the recently launched Motorola Droid 2 handset. If you have already seen the original Droid in action of the Droid X things aren’t really that much different. the Droid 2 is definitely snappier than the original as seen in the video below (thanks to the 1ghz CPU):

Equidia Watch Windows Phone 7 application video

Remember the Equidia application for Windows Phone 7  I talked about back in July? Here’s the first video of it in action running in the emulator. Equidia Watch, developed by french studio Tequilarapido will enable user to browser through all the multimedia and editorial content of French TV channel Equidia which means that you can watch video feeds, live stream video, etc.. Official Panorama and Pivot Controls for Windows Phone 7 Preview

If you are still waiting for the release of the official Windows Phone 7 Panorama and Pivot controls you can now check out Microsoft’s Jeff Wilcox preview of the what we can expect to see in the next SDK update (end of August).

Both of the controls are lightweight enough to have great performance, while visually engaging and responsive to touch. Some features:

- Standard items controls that feels natural to developers, individual items are built from PanoramaItem and PivotItem content controls

Ebay Application coming to Windows Phone 7 on launch day

No big surprise here given that Ebay took part of the Windows Phone 7 keynote at MIX10 but today’s confirmation that an actual application was in the works is kind of a good thing… I guess Microsoft has apparently asked Ebay (and I guessed also payed..) Ebay to develop a Windows Phone 7 application that should be ready for launch day according to Forbes:

Plans include releasing an app for phones running Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system,[...]
For now, partnerships are the main way eBay is staying current. At Microsoft’s request, Yankovich’s team is building an app for Windows Phone 7, the next generation of Microsoft’s mobile operating system. The app will be available when Windows Phone 7 launches, likely around October or November.

Windows Phone 7 MVVM template released

French studio Tequilarapido has released a new Windows Phone 7 template based on the MVVM (Model View VeiwModel) pattern for developer who wish to start developing WP7 applications with this type of architectural pattern. To use you will have to grab the zip file, place it in the “\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Templates\ProjectTemplates” folder then start VS2010 and add it via the Online Templates options. Resco announces Windows Phone 7 MobileApp Studio and MobileLight Toolkit with new Silverlight Controls

When one of the best mobile development company gets behind Windows Phone 7 you know that things are really starting to get serious. Resco who has already announced a few months back that it will support Microsoft’s new mobile platform is today announcing the launch of their new Windows Phone 7 MobileApp Studio developer platform which will include  a suite of Microsoft Silverlight controls for Windows Phone 7 called Resco MobileLight Toolkit. The whole package is scheduled to launch on September 28th:
