HTC Droid Incredible to get 720P video recording and Mobile Hostpot in next OTA update

Good news for all the HTC Droid Incredible owners out there. The next Over The Air update will enable 720P video recording and Mobile Hotspot on the device . You may remember that HTC told me a few moths ago that HTC Desire was capable of handling 720P encoding but because of time constraint the feature wasn’t enabled but was planed in a future update. Unfortunately HTC didn’t do anything since then even-though some folks over at XDA have already hacked their Nexus One to get this functionality. Now that the Droid Incredible will officially get it one can only hope that all other high end Android device from HTC will also be blessed with it (but HTC can still claim that they are only enabling it on the Droid because of the 8Mpix sensor…yeah sure..). Check out the video of the new ROM after the break:

Google denies Android 3.0 / Gingerbread rumors

As I said yesterday, Eldar Murtazin doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to breaking news and this has once again been the case today when Google’s Android’s Open Source and Compatibility Tech Lead, Dan Morrill decided to lay the smack down on the supposedly leaked features of Gingerbread aka Android 3.0:

-I love it when people just make stuff up and report it as news.
- @Adontai You shouldn’t believe everything you read, no.
- In summary, please remember that rumors are not official announcements. ;)

Motorola Droid X review

The Engadget crew wrapped up the first Motorola Droid X review exactly two weeks because before retail launch of the device on July 15th. The review is principally a Droid X vs HTC EVO 4G comparison which is quite logical given that both device have nearly the same form factor and specifications. What comes out of it is that Motorola’s latest offering is probably the best Android handset to hit the market this summer but Samsung’s massive Galaxy S launch will probably overshadow it. Check out the video after the break:
