US T-Mobile's HTC HD2 to have more Ram & Rom than original version

Looks like European and Asian/Pacific HTC HD2 owners are getting the “shaft” this time around. According to the specs sheet of the T-Mobile HTC HD2 which is set to be launched in the US in a couple of weeks the device will feature 1Gb of Rom & 576Mb of Ram compared to the 512 Mb of Rom & 448 Mb of Ram on the current HD2 available now. Don’t be surprised if HTC/Microsoft claims that this newer version is the only one to be upgradable to Windows Mobile 7later this year even though the “Original” meets the WM7 Chassis 1 specs

Update: There’s a slight probability that all HTC HD2s have 576Mb of Ram

Update2: Reader Oliwer just told that he contacted HTC’s German support about this and asked them if he could return his un-opened HTC HD2 untill he can get the one with more memory and got told that this version of the HTC HD2 will only be available in the US.

This is an outrage. If you are not happy, complain directly to HTC http://www.htc.com/uk/about_htc_bymail.aspx

Précédemment j’ai acheté un Diamond puis diamond 2 est sorti …

Maintenant, c’est le HD2 qui augmente sa mémoire et HTC ne change même pas son nom !

J’escompte un upgrade possible ou un swap à un prix très raisonnable !

    sinon j’envisage d’aller voir ailleurs.

Tout autre comportement serait interprété comme un manque de respect total de la clientèle.

If that’s the case, HTC should offer an Exchange to everyone who purchase their’s, from January 2010 and compensate those who got their back in 2009, as long as we all can provide a proof of ownership or purchase……….

Strange idea you all have. Do you all run out and complain to car, fridge etc manufacturers when they upgrade their products and demand replacements all the time? A purchase is made in a point in time for what is available at that time. Enjoy your device as I enjoy mine in confidence it was money well spent. Off course I may be wrong and would then challenge any of you to set up your company and match or better the achievements of HTC, Dell, Apple and others.

DeLorentz has that right. I just upgraded the processor in my computer without considering any litigation with the manufacturer.
In a materialistic, grab the goodies world, you pay for being on the frontline. Some folks will be taking a side job when the HD3 comes out. By the way, I am still driving my pristine 2003 G35 and using my Axim X50v w/Nav hanging on the dash with wires to the GPS. No one can convince me that I must trash them annually to satisfy any oneupmanship. But HTC, I am looking hard, I will have to join the 21st century pretty soon.
