Leaked Sprint roadmap shows HTC Android WiMax smartphone and Motorola Windows Mobile device

If the info provided by PhoneArena is to be believed, Sprint is planning to launch an Android base HTC WiMax phone this year ( A9292 ) and other interesting bit is a Windows Mobile based Motorola device (ES400 / MS400). Knowing that Motorola decided to skip Windows Mobile 6.5 I would guess that it’s WM7 based. Maybe the Motorola Shadow / Mirage ?

Hi, I think the ES400 is a rugged or semi ruigged replacement to the MC35. We’ve been talking to Motorola for some about it as the MC35 did leave a big gap in the market to fill.

I was also at an HTC conference last week where a UK Microsoft product manager confirmed to us that WM6.5 would be around for at least 18 months whichi s good for the Rugged and Enterprise markets, whilst WP7 would be the consumer oriented OS going forward.

There are many reasons why we need WM6.5 to stay in the rugged world, for 1 have you tried sig capture on a capacitive screen?

Moto are being very secretive about the device but we’re getting a preview on 5th May!

so as already Dave said it’s EDA between MC55 and MC75 with the size of MC35. It don’t have scan engine (but cam capable of 1D and 2D barcode scannig) but it have for example fingerprint reader.
